His First Cold

So Tuesday Matt said he wasn't fealing well and I told him not to breath, cough, and even look a Jackson because I didn't want him to get it. Well he did. Poor little thing is all stuffed up and sneezing and coughing. But he doesn't seemed to mind it at all. He's still a very happy baby. It's going around I guess. I talked to my friend Hollie and Nolan had it too. So Beware. I'm taking a little something just so hopefully I don't get it ;) Jackson is doing well other than that. He's trying to giggle a lot more he really tries to talk to you. He's really active. Oh his favorite song is "This Little Light of Mine" He really tries to sing it with me it's so adorable. It makes me laugh so hard I start crying. I would love to catch it on video but along with everything else everytime I get it out he stops doing it. Well I hope all is well and have a safe hoilday weekend!!

2 Month Check Up

"My Little John Deere"

So my poor baby boy had his 2 month check up and of course he had to have his 3 shots. He screamed for a little bit and is still fussy when his tylenol wears off every 5 hours but other than that he is ok.
He now weighes in at 11 lbs. and is 23 1/2 inches long. So still in the 50% in weight and 90% in height.
He's getting so big we can't believe it. He's smiling and laughing so much now. He smiles at everyone he sees. He is a very happy baby. Going back to work was ok considering I'm only working 5 hrs a day and Tuesday he came to work with me thanks to Vicky ;) cause Matt had to go into work early. Oh and as things have been going good again after the year we've had, Matt dropped off Jackson at work and on his way in a lady slammed into the back of him so between me and Matt since last August we've had 3 wrecks.

Our 1st Family Vacation

Last Saturday we, meaning mom, dad, Matt, and Jackson, set off on our first family vacation. We went to Oak Island, NC about 30 mins from Myrtle Beach. Matt's brother lives down there with his wife. We had a absolute blast down there. Jackson was great he rode the whole trip perfectly, and was excellent the whole week. He loved the ocean. He loved the ocean breeze hitting him in the face he would sometimes try to catch it in his mouth. We went to Gatlinburg on Sunday, detour, where we got his first ornament and stocking, Monday we went to Myrtle Beach shop and ate on the ocean. Tuesday we went to Southport, an old town next to the island where I know what you did Last Summer, Domestic Disturbance and other movies where made. And the rest of the week we hung out at the beach.Poor Jackson got a mini sunburn some how even though we had sunblock on him and under an umbrella. Everyone was making fun of me because the way I put the the stick sunblock on he had zebra stripes. But we had a great time and mom & dad allowed us to get some alone time by watching Jackson while we went for a moonlight walk down the beach;) It was nice getting away for awhile after the year we had. Everyone is doing great Jackson is getting so big Matt & Dad measured Jackson the other night and swears that he is 24 inches now. We'll see when we go to the doctor on Weds. for his 2 month appt. That's when he gets all his shots :( I let you know how it ends up. Oh and I go back to work Monday. So pray for me that I don't have a nervous breakdown.

My Baby's Eating Baby Food!!

Ok so it's not Jackson but Matt. We went to a couples baby shower for my cousin and his wife. It was really fun and Jackson was great. He loves being outside. First just let me say that we went up to the Knobs to this Million dollar home. Amazing!!! Her front hallway was bigger than my house!! But anyways, they decided for once that the guys should do the nasty games and let the women watch. So they had to feed each other baby food with a spoon in the others mouth. So Matt and Derek was partners. They did really great. Matt ate the whole jar :) But we all had a great time. Jackson is getting so big now I don't believe he is going to be 2 months in a couple of weeks. He's already smiling and laughing on his own. He really loves his bouncing seat. I can't wait we leave next Saturday on vacation with mom and dad. We'll have plenty of pictures of Jackson at his first time at the beach ;)

Alone?

Ok so maybe tonight will be the night that we actually let my parents watch him while we go to the movies. I have only left him with Matt for a total of 40 mins since he's been born. But I know that Papa and Mama want to watch him and it might be nice to get out without him :( But it will only be 2 hours. We'll see though, I won't believe it until I actually drive away without him and make it through the whole movie. So I probably won't enjoy the movie thinking of what my parents are doing with him and if he is being good. I'll keep you posted if I actually go through with this and how I did. A Weekend of First

Saturday he got to go to his first birthday party. It was great seeing all the girls from high school and their little ones. I just don't believe how fast they all grew up. Poor Alexander being the only boy, besides Jackson, at the birthday party. Sunday was his first visit to church. I know now how hard it is to get to chruch on time with a newborn, but we made it and he did really good through the whole service. Then we took are first trip to the Zoo. We had a blast. We went with my cousin and some friends of ours and their 5 month old. Jackson did great till the end. I don't think he really got to appreciate the love for the animals yet, but it was still fun ;) But all in all it was a great weekend of first!

I Don't Believe It!

We can't believe that our baby boy is one month today! It seems that in the blink of an eye things change or go by so fast. He is doing so well. We went to the doctor yesterday and he weighed in at 9 pounds and 1.5 ounces and measured at 23 inches long. He's in the 50 percentile in his weight and 100 percentile for height. The doctor said he was completely healthy and is doing great. We can tell he is starting to notice more of his surroundings now. He can hold his head up pretty good and when we put him on his belly he almost does this swim thing were he pulls his head and arms up and kicks his legs in the air. He still doesn't really like bathes much but hopefully he'll get over that soon.

We are both just so happy to be parents of a wonderful baby boy!
